Christmas

Hello, I haven’t written in ages :) For me Christmas is a completely different holiday.. completely different.. with nothing to do with Christmas as such, for reasons you know. Of all my 2026 Christmases, there have been some when nobody remembered me, and although I was alone, I wasn’t lonely, because people say you should learn to be by yourself, whatever day it is. But people say all sorts of things. I’ve also had Christmases when home was like an inn, so crowded you could barely get past anyone, and I felt terribly lonely. I’m almost certain that had nothing to do with the holiday. We have dozens of days like that throughout the year; people have simply decided that on this day bad things can’t happen to you and you can’t feel awful. There are good Christmases and bad ones, whichever you get, and whether that makes us better or worse.. it shouldn’t. If someone is a complete swine for the other 364 days of the year, what good deed could wipe out all the other nastiness? And would they do it willingly? And the other way round: if you’re always good, will Christmas make you even better.. I don’t think so. I’m not sure there are better and best people.. and yes.. you pause on this holiday, think and take stock, but of what? For me it’s usually whether the year has caressed me or run me over, nothing more.. and faith, brother, is a relative thing.. we can pull each other’s pigtails over that in another discussion.. :) And you don’t need to believe people can be unscrupulous; what matters is knowing that they can.. And yes.. people need hope.. everyone wants to look into a candle and see their own little flame.. if you lose hope, it means the little flame has gone haywire and is shining for the wrong person.. so you must immediately look for a new little flame. ..And with all the nonsense I’ve written so far, I simply wanted to tell you that the holiday usually isn’t to blame at all for who we are or how we feel.. it’s our day.. we can make it whatever we want. It’s lovely to wake up and simply smile, just because it’s lovely, not because it’s Christmas. Enjoy life as much as you can, have fun, be insanely happy, breathe happiness..!!!
